Featuring artists from approximately 20 different countries, this international survey brings together recent video works that are structured around a single situation, action, or individual.
Combining narrative economy with quasi-documentary approaches, many of the participating artists reinterpret the process-oriented concerns of performance and conceptual art from the 1970s, while exploring an expanded social and psychological landscape. Ranging from controlled studio situations to interventions in the flow of everyday life, their work shares an interest in singular situations that generate complex meanings.
